In addition, these dead skin cells tend to clog your pores and interfere with your skin’s natural oil production. This can lead to enlarged pores, blemishes, acne, and even wrinkles!

So, physical and chemical exfoliation are both very important. Physical exfoliation might be easier to start with because you can adjust the amount of pressure you apply. Chemical exfoliants help to “unglue” the dead skin cells, and some acids are even able to promote collagen stimulation.
