Q1: Tell us about yourself and what are you currently doing

My name is Kiran and I’m currently a content creator and full-time student at Jeonbuk National University completing my Master’s degree in international trade. 

Q2: How did you get into content creation? 

I moved to Korea for my studies and started creating content in my free time, which quickly became my favorite thing to do. That’s how I got into the K-beauty world and tried so many amazing products. 

Q3: What made you decide to create content on K-beauty?

K-beauty is popular everywhere, and being in Korea, I wanted to learn more about it. Creating content is a great way to do that. 

Q4: What does Picky do better than other influencer companies?

Picky allows creators to be themselves and encourages creativity. They also work with top brands and offer great incentives. One of my best experiences with Picky was when I earned a $1,000 bonus for creating viral content. It was such an exciting moment that inspired me to get even more creative and work more closely with Picky. Q6: What do you feel is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far living in Korea and what advice would you give to other immigrants/creators looking to work here? 

The biggest lesson I’ve learned in Korea is that language is key to connecting with the culture and people. For creators, Picky is a great foreigner-friendly option, offering opportunities whether you’re here short-term or long-term.

 

How Did Kiran Succeed as a Picky Creator?

Finding a Niche And Active Audience

As an Indian student experiencing life in Korea firsthand, Kiran is able to share all the latest information on Korea to her followers back home. Most of her followers are Indian with immense interest in not only Korean culture but also K-beauty. In fact, according to market analyst Mordor Intelligence, the K-beauty market in India is expected to grow annually by 9.4 percent from 2021 to 2026.

This signals growing demand from Indian consumers, which also means greater interest in Kbeauty focused contents such as product reviews and skincare tips from Indian social media users, over 385M on Instagram alone.

 
Creating Content Uniquely Your Color 

Kiran started creating content on her personal experiences as an international student in Korea. She shared about her daily experiences through vlogs about her travelsmukbangs, and moreβ€”all in her mix of English and mothertongue Punjabi. 

 

Success with Viral K-Beauty Brands

When Kiran joined Picky as a creator, she was able to expand her contents to more collabs with K-beauty brands and expose her audience to new and exciting contents covering the latest skincare trends and products from Korea. 

Some of her most successful campaigns at Picky earned her huge bonuses when they became the most viral video.
